A very expensive, flying thing. I should have my part 107 commercial UAS certificate by the end if the month, so I’ll be able to make money flying this thing for photography.

Besides, I accidentally sent it to my parents house Lol so I’ll just get it when I go back for Thanksgiving.

Yuneec typhoon H

Specs: 6rotors for motor failure protection (if one fails it’ll stay flying)

4k HD camera on a brush less gimbal

Retractable landing gear

HP real sense 3D mapping for terrain avoidance

25-30min battery life

Secondary remote for dual-operator mode

And this is the main controller/groundstation:

Nice, working on my 107 as well. I have the DJI Inspire 1. I did the online part just to have it erase that I did it. I have to start over, but whatever.

That thing is sweet! I have a phantom 3 professional and love it. I could only imagine how much fun this one could be!

Wow, I’ve never had a drone, but this would be an awesome job! How does one get into this business and acquire the license....I don’t want to know how much that thing cost, but hopefully it doesn’t take too lung to recoup the cost!

The Faa 107 certification is just a written test that will cost $150. Then the drones go from $100 gimmicks to many thousands.

The part 107 was really easy for me to get because I am already a licensed pilot. The test is a little harder if you don’t have a pilot’s license already. But pricing is like Jake said

I had trouble with this as well.

Coolnes! I would be a neat way to make some money on the side, but I am not sure how much call there would be for it here, sadly..

I’ve never flown a drone before, but I do have a little experience with r/c helicopters...

It’s much, much different. I’m actually on the verge of starting my own company with my friend from Aviation school so that we can operate everywhere

Pretty cool! Yeah, I imagine it’s only VAGUELY like the helicopters I’ve flown...would love to get into it sometime, but I would want to start with one that had a camera on it for flying once it’s far away and you can’t see it very well. :)

That’s true. The test is very similar to the private written. I haven’t yet done the 107 but I hope to soon. Right now I’d rather take 2 hours flying instead. 152 for $72/hour wet at my home airport.

That’s not bad. Unfortunately, I’m a rather large dude so a 152 doesn’t really cut it haha. But at school we get a Glass cockpit 172 for $138 wet.

That’s good. My school used to have one at $125. A 152 is small but fine solo. Another person means 172 time.
